Dear |sonance|network| Members,
At first we would like to thank you for the large attendance on |sonance|network|.
Due to the active participation and the many Uploads, our servers are about to burst from all seams. Several times in the last years it was necessary to install new hard disks, because the old ones got full.
Now it is time to seperate the server services to several servers and to make it more easy to operate. Because of the growing support expenditure, we automate now a little. Hopefully you can excuse us; -)
There are going to be many new services for you: A Web radio and an Internet TV for the publication of your own productions, own Mail account administration for your Domains, self-managable mailing list services and an experimentation surface to call just some of the things which are under development in the surrounding field of |sonance|network|.
We purchased some new equipment and spend many hours to install it so that we can set into motion the lasting infrastructure for a culture association.
We would like to point out that up to today we finance everything from own resources and that we don’t receive furtherances or assistance.
Now we ask you to take over a little work, by changing over your Email Client to the new server.
We hope that that is not too much required: -)
Furthermore we ask ALL to read the new assistance section at the next opportunity.
We would be pleased if someone wants to help actively with the development of the |sonance|network| Services, he or she shoud announce himself/herself to us. We think of organizing workshops for the collabortive extension of the structure every two weeks, if someone should be interested in it.
We send you the new entrance data and recommend urgently to install an additional email account in your email Client program.
the new server-addresses are: receivingmailserver: imap.sonance.net or. pop.sonance.net sendingmailserver: smtp.sonance.net
If you stored emails on the existing server http://mail.sonance.net/mail/ ( http://mx1.sonance.net) , you can shift them with the help of dragee & drop in your email Client program from the old to the new server.
Please secure all your important mails you have on the old server.
The email services at the mx1 will soon be shout down.
If you have problems or questions please contact FIRST the new assistance section under http://firstaid.sonance.net/ and exclusively afterwards send an email to the support address:
1. section firstaid: http://firstaid.sonance.net/ 2. support-email address: support AT lists DOT sonance DOT net please replace the AT by "@" und DOT by "." This is an anti-spam measure.
This address automatically sends you a “Trouble ticket Nummer”. Through this mechanism we can’t overlook one of your inquiries.
So please excuse the “number”; -)
Generally we work on support inquiries weekly, naturally we work more often on them during the period of changeover.
The final mailserver conversion takes place on the weekend from the NOT FIXED YET.
Up to then you should have secured all Mailsand your additional email account should have been installed.
After conversion, you can delete your old email account in your mail program. (starting from the beginning of NOT FIXED YET.)
The other existing server services (web pages and data bases) will be transferred at a later time on one of the new servers. The ftp account data in your account-email will get relevant to a later point in time.
Please keep the account updating E-Mail in safe custody!
Greetings
Yours |sonance|network| Support team
cathrin & simon.
